SwiMMAs had an impressive showing at the District One Champs swim meet this weekend in York. On the first day, Saturday, February 26th, Violet Lorei '22 took 3rd in the 200 free with a time of 02:01:92. Kelly O'Connor '22 took 3rd in the 50 free with a time of 25:52, breaking the previous school record.
A huge congratulations to senior swimmers, Kelly O'Connor and Violet Lorei, for setting new Merion Mercy swim records. Kelly's district time of 25:52 and Violet's time of 25:39 in the 50 freestyle beat the previous record held by Emily Benton (25:79).
On day two of the meet, Sunday, February 27, Mia Longo '24 took 1st place in the girls 100 yard back.
Violet Lorei '22 took 4th in the 100 free with a time of 55.26. Finally, 400 free relay team members Mia Longo '24, Lily Denn '23, Ava Kennedy '24, and Violet Lorei '22 took 5th with a time of 3:54:32.
Overall, Merion Mercy placed 6th in the district meet.
